When I'm not cooking, looking at recipes and getting over excited about new vegan options- I'm dribbling over food themed jewellery! I have lost count of the amount of knitted cupcakes, crocheted sandwiches and biscuit brooches which I've collected- but this new designer has got me all kinds of excited!
Using dolls house parts, Arantxa Garcia's jewellery range, Cream Tea is delicate and humorous; a kind of tongue in cheek take on accessories, contrasted with delicate chains and floral wallpaper.
I attended the Cream Tea launch event, and it was every bit as cute as the jewellery; a vintage tea party filled with antique crockery, sandwiches without their crusts, sherry and - of course- plenty of cupcakes! The centre piece was a truly impressive three tiered Victoria Sponge, stuffed full of raspberries. The jewellery was arranged around piles of books, cake stands and vintage cameras, and, once purchased, were popped into beautiful, individual boxes, wrapped in ribbon and included a cute business card. Brilliant for gifts or to treat yourself to something nice.
Here's the necklace which I selected for myself:
And she was even kind enough to let me buy one earring, as opposed to a set:
[I have one stretched ear, so only ever use half of a set of earrings!]
Earlier in the day I attended Cake Swap, at Vx. I stuffed myself with the most brilliant cakes; cinnamon buns with a lemon glaze, tiramisu cake, lemon pound cake, mocha brownies- everything was so good, so delicious, and so wonderfully can't-believe-it's-vegan! It was lovely chatting to new vegans, and I look forward to attending more, and actually bringing something sweet!
